Community Vision
The reputation of the community will be changed through the creation of a beautification program and the establishment of a variety of retail and professional services. Personal lives will be enhanced by access to recreational, fitness, and educational opportunities resulting in an improved quality of life for the citizens of Hulbert.
Library Vision
The citizens of Hulbert will find the library a welcoming place having materials and information they need to help lead informed, productive, and creative lives.
Service Response
Satisfy Curiosity: “Residents will have the resources they need to explore topics of personal interest and continue to learn throughout their lives.”
Goal 1: Residents will have the opportunity to attend creative and educational programs.
Objective 1: The attendance at library sponsored Family programs will increase by 10% each year of the planning cycle.
Objective 2: Participation in the library’s three Summer Reading programs (Children’s, Young Adults and Adults) will increase by 10% each year.
Objective 3: The library will increase the number of programs co-sponsored by local organizations by 100% each year of the planning cycle.
Objective 4: 75% of patrons attending library programs, which were co-sponsored with local organizations, when surveyed, will indicate that they found the information presented useful.
Goal 2: The library will be a clearinghouse for information about community and government events.
Objective 1: 50% of those surveyed annually will state that they are able to find the information they need to become involved in community events.
Objective 2: Yearly, 95% of the recipients receiving “New Resident” packets will indicate on a survey that they found the information useful.
Goal 3: The library will promote recreational and informational reading with materials that reflect the interests of the Hulbert community.
Objective 1: Annually, 80% of patrons surveyed will indicate that the library collection contains materials of local interest.
Objective 2: The number of adult, young adult and juvenile non-fiction items will be increased by 25% by the end of the planning cycle.
Objective 3: Circulation of non-fiction materials will increase by 10% each year.
Objective 4: By the end of the planning cycle, DVD circulation will increase by 35%.
